Self-Injury Awareness Day: My Contribution

I write poetry in my spare time. Most of it is awful, and much unworthy of your attention. I decided to publish one, mostly to ease my presentation to a Youtube blogger. (I provided you a video.) The purpose was for this poem is for an awareness day on self-abuse. I know many people who self abuse themselves through different means. Sometimes they do drugs and drinking, others have meaningless sex, some ignore their physical health issues and allow it to get worst, and sometimes all three at once! Off the top of my head, I can think of a dozen people who fits this exact example, but honestly; I can't say the same for ''cutters.''

In my lifetime I have met some ''cutters.'' I can count these people on my hand. These people are some of the most beautiful, kind, and loving people I have ever met. All of them I can say are living productive lives, but perhaps not by society's stands. That why I wrote this. If society could just accept how these people chose to cope, I believe, it would be a start to helping them. Judging them only leads to more... cutting...

If you're laughing right now... its probably because this is something that makes you uncomfortable, and you should deal with your issues as well. You know who you are, trolls :3 Thanks for reading!

Half way down a corridor,
Trusted guide takes us away;
Don't quite know yet what its for,
There is not much left to say.

Was it lack of direction;
or many paths unchosen?
Of Life styles and depression,
much of it left unspoken;

most done with good intentions.
It hurt me, but them also,
these awful inclinations.
Still, just a young naive doe;

passengers had dealt this blow.
And all I could do was watch,
the benign seed that they sow,
unaware but she still fought.

Now I walk, trusted guide;
but I need to know this: why?
Because of the scars I hide?
She answers with long a sigh.

Continue now, on this path;
and here she smiled bearing hope,
scars hid by a mango sash;
This will teach you how to cope.

Hope you like this xsullengirlx from Youtube. And by the way, though I have heard of the whole orange colour theme for this, I had no idea there was a whole day. Good luck with it all. Title the poem as you wish, I leave you with the right to use it as you want. I trust you know what to do with it! Hope you like it!
